Praying for my Church – Unity *

“I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.  There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling;  one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.”  (Ephesians 4:1-5; NKJ)

We live in an incredibly divisive time in our country.  This divisiveness has tragically even spilled over into many churches.  It is worse than tragic; it is a grievous sin before our Lord who gave his physical body to the cross to make one spiritual body of his people.

Will you pray today for Chapel Wood to continue to grow in a spirit of unity in Christ?  Will you pray that we can celebrate and honor our God-given differences and gifts?  Will you pray that unity and love and peace will prevail over any divisive issue that we might face?

* We are so grateful that you are joining in prayer for Chapel Wood!  If you attend another church, may this prompt you to pray for your church as well!
