Praying for my Church – Ministries *

“Now in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplying, there arose a complaint against the Hebrews by the Hellenists, because their widows were neglected in the daily distribution.  Then the twelve summoned the multitude of the disciples and said, ‘It is not desirable that we should leave the word of God and serve tables.  Therefore, brethren, seek out from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business; but we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word.’  And the saying pleased the whole multitude. And they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and the Holy Spirit, and Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas, a proselyte from Antioch, whom they set before the apostles; and when they had prayed, they laid hands on them.  Then the word of God spread, and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests were obedient to the faith.”  (Acts 6:1-7; NKJ)

The early church realized that it had to branch out and create new ministries, new ways and methods of ministering to people.  They prayerfully established a food distribution ministry, which we recognize as the beginning of the role of deacons in church.

Today would you pray for Chapel Wood’s various ministries and their respective leaders and teams?

  • For Women’s Ministry and Anna Marie
  • For Children’s Ministry and Rebecca
  • For the Worship Team and Jerry and Gary.
  • For the Media Team and Paul and Dale
  • For Youth Ministry and Frank
  • For the Admin team and Dee, Allen, and Frank.

Pray that these ministries would see the success that the ministry of Acts 6 had.  Pray that people would be blessed through them, that many would come to Christ!

* We are so grateful that you are joining in prayer for Chapel Wood!  If you attend another church, may this prompt you to pray for your church as well!
