Praying for my Church - Marriages and Family *

“‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.’  This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church.  Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.  Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.  ‘Honor your father and mother,’ which is the first commandment with promise: ‘that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.’  And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord.”  (Ephesians 5:31-6:4; NKJ)

The strength of a church is found in the strength of its marriages and families.  The first “classroom” for teaching the Word of God is not the church, but the family.

Would you pray today for marriages to be healed and strengthened?  Would you pray for families to become places where the Word of God is taught and love flourishes?

* We are so grateful that you are joining in prayer for Chapel Wood!  If you attend another church, may this prompt you to pray for your church as well!
