Praying for my Nation – The Congress
“Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” (1 Timothy 2:1-4; NKJ)
The Congress of the United States are the elected representatives of the citizens of this country. They have the incredible responsibility of debating and writing legislation to govern this great country. Would you pray for the members of the House and the Senate today? Pray for courage of convictions, rather than bowing to political pressures. Would you pray that members would realize their need for wisdom beyond themselves for this great task and turn to God and his Word?
