Praying for Myself – Relationships

“But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.”  (Matthew 5:44-45; NKJ)

Jesus taught something radical – to bless and pray for those who we might even consider enemies!  There is a deep truth here; when we are at odds with someone, there is a weight upon us.  Conflict weights us down; conflict drains us.  Today pray for any relationship in your life that concerns you.  Pray for God to show you what is needed and appropriate in that relationship, be it patience, forgiveness, healing, or reconciliation.  And if we are called to pray for our enemies, how much more should we be praying for family and friends whom we know and love.  Pray for health and growth in your relationships.
